Submission Guidelines

What is Thaneros?

Thaneros Online Magazine publishes fiction which explores the place where sex and darkness collide, presenting one story per week, as well as reviews of a variety of dark delights. It is intended for mature readers.

Wants:

Thaneros seeks erotica set in both mainstream and speculative genres, all of it with a dark twist. How you define dark is up to you. Does your fiction dance through the shadows of the human psyche? Are your stories filled with creatures that bump and grind in the night? More importantly, are they hot? If so, we want them.

Does Not Want:

- Glorified rape or abuse, or sex without a plot.

- Gore or violence for their own sake.

- Gratuitous character death; we want "little deaths," not snuff.

- Racist or homophobic fiction; Thaneros is open to all cultures and sexual preferences.

- Sex with minors.

- Bestiality, though werewolves et cetera are fine.

- Skat.

- Clichés.

- Poetry.

Rights Requested:

- First electronic rights or electronic reprint rights.

- The right to archive the work for up to one calendar year.

Payment:

- $10 US for up to 3,500 words and $15 US for 3,501 to 5,000 words. Query at the address below for works less than 1,000 or greater than 5,000 words in length.

- All payments will be made via Paypal. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions at this time.

How to Submit:

- One story at a time, please.

- Send stories to Ethan Thomas at thaneros@shaw.ca in the body of a plain text e-mail only; attachments will be deleted unread.

- Include the following in the subject line: [SUBMISSION] Title / Author Name.

- If you do not receive a note within one week letting you know that we have received your submission, please query.

- Expect a response within sixty days.
